Resources

Resources To Guide You

Navigating the world of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can sometimes be overwhelming. At Care Comes Home, we’re dedicated to making this journey as smooth and understandable as possible. Our curated resources aim to provide clarity, support, and guidance every step of the way.

What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a transformative approach to providing support to Australians with disabilities. It’s designed to give individuals greater choice and control over the care they receive, ensuring a tailored approach that resonates with individual needs and aspirations.

How Can We Assist

As a registered NDIS provider in New South Wales, Care Comes Home offers a range of services aligned with NDIS guidelines. Our team is well-versed in the intricacies of the scheme, ensuring that our clients can maximise the benefits available to them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about NDIS in Australia with our library of helpful facts and resources.
The NDIS has eligibility criteria that are dependent on the types of services you are looking at providing. Get in touch with us so we can assess your eligibility.
We understand that every individual’s journey is unique. So we’ve cultivated a diverse range of services, ensuring that we can offer the right support, precisely when and where it’s needed, please refer to ‘Services we deliver” section on this page.

The NDIS can help you pay for different kinds of disability supports. You can get funding for things like:
– personal care and daily living support
– transport to join in activities
– work and employment support
– therapies (e.g. behaviour support)
– household tasks
– equipment you need (e.g. a specialised bed or mobility equipment)
– things you use often because of your disability
– vehicle modification
– community participation

If you started receiving NDIS funding before you turned 65, you can continue to receive funding as an NDIS participant or change and receive Aged Care support instead. If you are over 65 and aren’t on the NDIS, you are not eligible to access NDIS funding. You may still receive support through the Aged Care system.
The NDIS is separate from the Disability Support Pension. If you receive the Disability Support Pension from Centrelink, you can also receive funding from the NDIS. The same goes for Carers Payment: an income support payment given by the government. It is not affected if your loved one is also eligible for the NDIS.
The NDIS aims to understand a person’s goals, then provide funding so they can access the support they need to achieve those goals. It is based around each person’s individual plan, which means that the amount of funding you receive is dependent on the kinds of support you are eligible for. The NDIS works with a set price guide, so you can look at the NDIS Price Guide for 2019-20 and the Support Catalogue for 2019-20 for more information. If you would like help putting together your own NDIS plan, please get in touch for a free consultation.
